Based on 5,424 reviewsNasi Tempong Mbok Nah is widely recognized for its authentic East Javanese flavors, particularly its signature spicy sambal that appeals strongly to heat lovers. The restaurant is popular among vegetarians and vegans due to its variety of plant-based options like tempeh, tofu, and fresh vegetables. Despite its modest size and busy street location, the dining environment is generally clean and welcoming. Customers appreciate the flexible serving style, including the option to have sambal served separately for those sensitive to spice. The affordable pricing and friendly service further contribute to its appeal. However, some diners noted that the level of spiciness can be intense, which may not suit all palates. Overall, it remains a favored spot for locals and visitors seeking genuine regional cuisine.
A full set complete Nasi Tempong with the fried tahu, tempe and bakwan and veggies with the sambal that perfectly mixed so that people can enjoy it. Even it is just by the busy street but eating here is still enjoyable
Perfect choice for vegans and vegetarians! Busy and popular restaurant, buffet style. You queue, then tell them what you want (and what you don't). We had white rice, water spinach, tempeh, tofu, and a very crispy omelette. If you ask the staff to go easy on the hot sauce, they will put it in a small bowl instead of directly over the food. The cutlery was at the rear side of the counter. Many seats inside and outside.
Best nasi tempong in town. Very cheap (3 persons only 63K IDR). Great location, not so far from Taman Blambangan. The space was not big but quite clean. The service was great.
Good local specialty mixed rice. Be careful with the chili, it’s burning hot. Asked for the chili to be separated from the rice. The other condiments for the rice are mostly fried stuffs. Some fresh raw veggies provided for free.
Nice Tempong but not the best for me. If you like spicy tempong, this place is for you. The sambals is so spicy but the taste is ok. You can choose from fried shrimp, fried sea fish, squid with black souce, fried chicken, fried egg, etc.
If we order nasi tempong, we will get tahu, tempe, ikan asin, lalapan, sambal and rice. Mbok nah gives us many choice of side dish. The price is affordable. I choose shrimp and fried egg just 24k. The taste of sambal is very spicey.
The best Tempong Rice Salted fish, fried egg, prawn, black onk squid in one place to eat. So delicious
